Critic Reviews for Room
It's hard to think of a movie adaptation of a book that feels truer and more loyal to its source than Room.
It's a deeply satisfying, profoundly moving adaptation of a popular novel, an all-too-rare occurrence in modern Hollywood.
Room is astonishing: It transmutes a lurid, true-crime situation into a fairy tale in which fairy tales are a source of survival.
Room is a good movie with a great performance at its core. Larson's career was already going places... But Room will be remembered as the movie that etched her permanent place on the map.
This dramatic thriller is small-scale but profound, with great performances from Larson and a young Tremblay.
Audience Reviews for Room
Fantastic acting and a great script make this one of the most unusual films of recent years. One shouldn't spoil too much about the plot, but it says a lot that a film can easily have its climax in the middle of the story and still lose no intensity in the second half, easily keeping the audience's attention for the aftermath. Engaging, moving and honest.

For those who aren't aware of Brie Larson's previous work, you should know that she is truly an amazing talent. Her 2013 film "Short Term 12," is a prime example of a past Oscar snub, and a harrowing and heartfelt film that deserves so much more attention than it got. Luckily Larson was aptly awarded for her work in this indie jewel, based on the Emma Donohue novel of the same name. Mostly set in a single room, the story follows a young mother and her son (who only knows the inside of a room). His mother teaches him about the outside world and the horrifying circumstances that have led to the pair's current fate Read more at bluefairyblog.com
